Project SilEighty

A starting price too good to refuse, already had the idea of where I wanted my next street car to go.... This 180SX was in the right place at the right time to fall into my care.... Watch it evolve right here!

You can't handle the lock!

Now the RWC is out of the way the mods and fun begins!
Being a street car all the mods going in are going to be as stealth as possible, except maybe the tyres & kit (more to come)...

First step was to strip all the standard suspension components.

The front cross member was dropped and modified, with the steering rack moved forward, and the front of the member recessed.

The rack was moved forwards to prevent 'binding' when the tie rod angle goes past straight.

The front of the member was recessed to allow the engine to be moved backwards when the RB25 manual box is fitted.

So now the car's:
  • Lower & stiffer thanks to the HKS Coilovers.
  • More lock thanks to some custom rack spacers, r33 scalloped lower control arms, custom knuckles, and different tie rods/ends
  • Stops Better thanks to front brakes swapped for R33 GTST 4 Pots
